She began writing in adulthood after taking a course through the Institute of Children’s Literature. Her articles, stories, and reviews have been published in print and online publications including Guide, Clubhouse, Pockets, Keys for Kids, Faith Today, and testimony.
She has won awards for fiction, non-fiction, book reviews, and poetry and is an avid blogger. She is a member of Inscribe Christian Writers Fellowship and a professional member of The Word Guild. As well, she is a board member of MSAPPS (Matsqui-Sumas-Abbotsford Poets Potpourri Society).
What keeps her writing is the hope that God will use her words to build bridges from truth to faith in the way that the writings of others have done that for her. Destiny’s Hands is her first novel.
Violet is married to Ernie and they live in Langley, B.C. where they are active in their church, Christian Life Assembly. They have two children and three grandchildren. Violet also enjoys reading, gardening, walking, photography, and spending time with family and friends.
